Cabernet Franc is often used in the production of blended wines, however Pablo Richardi, the winemaker of the estate, has made the bold choice to put the expression of the fruit at the forefront, by proposing this single-variety cuvée “Gran Cabernet Franc”. As a protagonist of many terroirs in the world, Cabernet Franc also flourishes in Argentina. An ideal place to express its full potential. This is a selection of cabernet franc planted in the late 1990s on the Flechas de Los Andes property in the Uco Valley, and it’s a succulent, voluptuous take on the variety. Atypical like its terroir, it will surprise you with its 100% foudre maturation.
Colour: Deep bright ruby and concentrated colour, with violet reflections.
Aromas: Clean and compact aromas, delicate, with slight hints of black fruits, dried herbs and a touch of smoke.
Palate: Good volume and freshness, fluid but compact in its expressions. The attack has expression and grip, but is still vibrant. Young wine, with sustained freshness and a very spiced character that adds a certain depth to the finish. The mouthfeel has medium intensity and a silky texture. This is a definitively Argentinian Cabernet Franc, which will be excellent paired with a rich steak, grilled vegetables, or a poultry dish with cranberry sauce. Cellar for up to 10 years. Decant for up to an hour before serving.
Grape Varieties: 100% Cabernet Franc
Ageing: 14 months in French foudre

History of Flechas De Los Andes
The winery (or bodega) called FLECHAS DE LOS ANDES was born from the partnership between Baron Benjamin de Rothschild and Laurent Dassault, as the result of their research of a great terroir at the foot of the Andes in the Mendoza region.
The name “Flechas de los Andes” or “Andes arrows” refers to the 5 arrows, symbol of the Rothschild family (symbolizing the five brothers at the origin of this dynasty of entrepreneurs). Both families Rothschild and Dassault are aiming to produce a wine of excellence.
Built in 2003 and operational since the 2004 harvest, cellar Flechas de los Andes is a synthesis of all knowledge gained by experience of both partners in Bordeaux (Château Clarke and Château Dassault). Each harvest is handpicked, hand selected, and then fermented with high quality requirements in the most modern equipment. At the foot of the Andes, 120 km south of Mendoza, The Malbec variety rules as the king of this unique terroir.
