Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep and shiny violet-red
Nose: The nose reveals notes of blackberries and blackcurrants with subtle notes of dark chocolate.
Palate: The mouth is well-balanced and juicy with rounded tannins that provide a smooth and well-rounded texture. Excellent with pasta dishes. It is a versatile wine that can be paired with lean white meat or even marbled red meat, as well as sweet or acidic dishes, curry, risotto or fish like salmon or tuna.
Grape Varieties: 100% Carmenere
Aging: Once the malolactic fermentation was complete, 100% of the wine was barrel aged for 11 months; just 25% of the barrels were new so as to prioritize the fruity aromas and flavours ahead of the oak.

History of MontGras
MontGras was founded in 1993 in Colchagua Valley by the Gras family with the aim of creating high-quality wines, made with passion and dedication. Its focus is sustainable and organic production within their 5 vineyards in the main wine valleys of Chile.
In 1998, they established Ninquén, the first mountain vineyard in Chile, located in Colchagua Valley. Ninquén is an island hill, organically managed in harmony and respect with its native flora and fauna. With a height of 300 meters above sea level, it is characterized by its soils of volcanic origin.
Intriga vineyard is located in Linderos – Alto Maipo. It has deep alluvial soils, with a double influence of the Maipo River and the Andes Mountains, which allow thermal fluctuations of up to 20°C. It is the ideal terroir for the production of high-quality red wines from Bordeaux varieties.
Amaral vineyard, located in the Leyda Valley, was planted in 2006 and is located just 12 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean. Soils of alluvial origin, with granitic and calcareous sectors. The marked influence of the cold Pacific Ocean, and the mouth of the Maipo River make this place ideal for the production of cool climate wines.
For MontGras, the respect for the environment and communities is fundamental, and that is why it was one of the first wineries in Chile to be certified as sustainable. Today, it has a certified vegan portfolio, as well as organic plantations and wines. It is also processing the B Company certification.
MontGras has an innovative and daring oenology, which constantly seeks to surprise. Some of its wines are the icon Ninquén, as well as ANTU Single Vineyard, Quatro, DAY ONE and DE VINE Reserva. In addition, it has the specialist brands Intriga and Amaral by MontGras.
