Paul Jaboulet Aine: Crozes Hermitage Domaine Mule Blanche 2017

75cl / 14%

“A barrel-fermented blend of 50% Marsanne and 50% Roussanne, the 2017 Crozes Hermitage Domaine Mule Blanche is a terrific example of what those varieties can do when they’re grown in the right location and vinified with care.

Gentle toasted grain scents waft from the glass, along with notes of marshmallow and melon.

It’s full-bodied and richly textured, with notes of pineapple, crème brûlée and citrus on the long finish.”

About the Paul Jaboulet Aine: Crozes Hermitage Domaine Mule Blanche 2017

From a 7 ha plot in the heart of the original Crozes-Hermitage that was purchased by the Paul Jaboulet family in 1834!

Biodynamically farmed, which allows the grapes to be picked earlier than the rest of the appellation to preserve freshness and acidity. Vines grown on a rock debris from the river L’Isère, with a small base of clay and limestone. Allows for great draining which is ideal for proper maturation of Marsanne and Roussanne.

History of Paul Jaboulet-Aîné

Paul Jaboulet Aine has been a part of the Rhône Valley wine industry for almost two centuries, beginning with a small plot of land on the hills of Hermitage, before expanding throughout the region. Today, it encompasses more than 100 hectares (250 acres) of vineyards making wines from the northern and southern Rhône, including Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Condrieu and Cornas.

The maison was passed through the Jaboulet family until the purchase by the Frey family in 2006. The Paul Jaboulet Hermitage La Chapelle is the estate’s flagship wine and is one of the most sought-after wines from the Rhône, reaching high prices at auction.
