History of Pengwine
Named after the Chilean penguins, PengWine is a producer of unique wine from Chile. The founders wanted the company to have a name that was as unique and adventurous as the endeavor of making the wine itself, therefore they thought of the resilient Chilean penguins that make their home along the coast… and with that, PengWine was born.
To toast and honor these land and sea-loving birds, each blend is named after a different penguin native to South America. Hector Olivares is the wine maker behind PengWine. Mr. Olivares studied at the Catholic University in Chile with a degree in winemaking and then went on to study hands-on at vineyards in Spain. He then returned to his homeland of Chile to work with The Morande Family winery and in Ecuador (at the Chaupi Estancia winery). Mr. Olivares also serves as a trusted advisor to other Maipo Valley wineries.
