Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep Ruby
Aroma: Really intriguing with tons of pepper, soil, ripe dark fruits including plums and blackberries plus licorice and vanilla oak. Lots going on – evolves over time.
Palate: Punchy, full bodied with medium tannins and acidity. Concentrated ripe dark fruits with more oak on the plate than the nose. The Viognier adds freshness.
Grape Varieties: Rhone blend of Carignan, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Grenache and Viognier
History of Radford Dale
The philosophy driving Radford Dale is to produce reference South African wines with as little pretense and compromise imaginable. These wines are made to be faithfully site-driven, natural and balanced. Quality dictates everything that Radford Dale stands for. Their conviction is that South African wines should reflect the individuality of their own terroirs and not be driven by the globalisation and flavour standardisation of points & medal mentality.
