Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep rich copper
Nose: A thick pudding of a nose; fruit and caramel have merged into one slightly over-oaked soup; burnt apple pie.
Taste: This is essentially a port pipe sandwich… and it shows. The spicy, jammy fruit is interwoven through any amount of caramel while the oaky saltness gets the taste buds both salivating and puckering until you run dry.
Finish: Long, massive oak with quite evident traces of the virgin barrels now detectable. And more of a cocoa hue as it progresses. At last, some muscovado sugars arrive to supplant the berry fruits.
History of Amrut
Amrut Distilleries Private Limited began in 1948 and is as old as the history of independent India itself. Under the leadership of the founder, Amrut Distilleries made rapid strides to entrench itself as a significant and preferred supplier of Indian Made Liquor (IML) in the Defence Market. Also in Karnataka, its state of origin, Amrut Distilleries grew to be one of the dominant suppliers.
After six decades of notable progress, just like India, Amrut Distilleries has grown both in stature and size and is now noted as a global economic leader.
