Beefeater 24 is soft to the nose with a hint of grapefruit. To the palate it is incredibly soft, with a long, lingering finish and a little tingle to remind you of the taste.
The inspiration for Beefeater 24 came while Master Distiller, Desmond Payne MBE, was travelling in the Far East. Quinine is banned in Japan, resulting in tonics that are comparatively sweet. As an alternative, Desmond chose to mix his Beefeater gin with chilled green tea. The resulting gin and tea combination was remarkable and inspired Desmond to spend the next 18 months experimenting with different teas and botanical blends.
The result is an exceptionally mixable gin, with a unique aromatic profile and superior smoothness, ideal for contemporary cocktails. The 12 hand-selected botanicals are Japanese Sencha, Chinese Green Tea, Grapefruit Peels, Juniper, Lemon Peel, Almond, Seville Orange Peel, Coriander Seed, Orris Root, Liquorice Root, Angelica Root and Angelica Seed.
Born and bred in the heart of London where it still remains after over 150 year, the Beefeater distillery is one of nine currently still operational in London itself. As the Spirit of London, Beefeater has absorbed the city’s creativity and energy letting it seep into its soul.
Beefeater 24 was awarded Gold at the International Spirits Challenge in 2017.
