Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep, intense layer, with cherry red background and red edge.
Nose: It is intense with a profile of ripe black fruits, among which blackberry and plum stand out. You can see a bunch of dried aromatic herbs that release their aromas. There are mineral notes of India ink damp earth that mix with the aniseed smell of some mushrooms. The aroma of tobacco and cocoa form a whole with notes of cherries in liquor.
Palate: Wine with a sensation of volume and fullness. The black fruits come out, at the same time with a liquorish sensation from a warm vintage and the usual freshness of the CORIMBO I. The tannin is present, but it is very fine, giving an elegant Ribera del Duero as a whole. In the palate, there is a perception of a certain fresh sweetness, very pleasant. The whole is very tasty, reminiscent of a concentrated and perfectly clarified consommé.
Grape Varieties: 100% Tinta del País (Tempranillo)
Aging: 16 months in barrique, 80% French and 20% American
History of Bodegas La Horra
After a history of more than 20 years that has made it one of the most prestigious wineries in the DOCa. Rioja, Bodegas RODA began a search throughout Spain in search of the best lands for growing Tempranillo outside of La Rioja. The region that showed the best suitability according to the criteria used was Ribera del Duero and, within this DO, the area of La Horra in the province of Burgos.
This was the place chosen for the birth of Bodegas LA HORRA in April 2009 with CORIMBO and CORIMBO I, wines with character, pleasant and elegant that are at the top of the Ribera del Duero range.
