1. Unscrew
Slide SmartClamps™ up using the Clamp Release. Unscrew the Capsule Cup.

2. Install
Insert a Capsule and screw the Capsule Cup back on quickly and completely, making sure there is no gap between System and Cup. Slide SmartClamps™ down. You are ready to pour!

What is a Coravin Pure™ Capsule?
Coravin Pure™ Capsules power all Coravin Wine Preservation Systems, by pressurizing an unopened bottle of wine with Argon gas to pour a sip, a glass, or more. But not all Argon gas is born equal. Only Coravin Pure™ Capsules utilize our proprietary Four Point Purity Process. Each Capsule pours about 15, 5 ounce glasses of wine with Coravin Timeless Systems and 20, 5 ounce glasses of wine with Pivot Systems.

How many pours should I get per capsule?
The Pivot System will deliver approximately 20 5-ounce pours, (150 ml) per capsule – or about 100 ounces of wine. To optimize your pour, use a short press of the button and let the wine flow. If you wish a bit more just give the button another quick press.

Can I ship Coravin Pure™ Capsules?
Shipping compressed gas capsules requires special handling and packaging. Unless you are certified to ship compressed gas you will not be able to ship. Coravin uses compliant procedures and packing materials to properly ship Coravin Pure™ Capsules around the world. We will be happy to ship to your desired location.

Does Argon affect the taste of the wine?
Argon is an inert, non-reactive gas, which means it does not engage with the wine or its components. Because of this property, argon is used in Coravin’s wine preservation systems to protect still wines from oxidation without altering their taste or aroma. This ensures that each pour maintains the integrity and quality of the wine.

History of Coravin

Greg Lambrecht, the founder and inventor of Coravin, combined his knowledge of medical-grade needles with his passion for wine to develop a unique wine preservation system that allowed him to pour wine without removing the cork. In the late 1990s, he brought his expertise in creating ultra-gentle and exceptionally precise needles for pediatric chemotherapy delivery to his home workshop, where he began working on a device that would change the way he drank wine.

In his years of testing, Greg worked with wine makers and other experts in the wine industry to blind taste their wines using his device. They tested bottles that had been accessed 3 months, 6 months, one year, and three years previously against fresh bottles of the same wines. He continues to test Coravin Systems around the world, even testing a bottle that was 14 years old, accessed with one of his original prototypes. With every blind tasting, the results are clear: wines accessed with the Coravin Wine Preservation System remain as fresh as the day they were bottled, even years later.
