Tasting Notes
Colour: Golden in color, clean and bright.
Nose: Aromas reminiscent of pineapple, papaya, honey, dried and tropical fruits such as passion fruit.
Palate: In the mouth, a high acidity is perceived that maintains the freshness of the wine, great volume and long persistence. The freshness and fruit stand out over the French barrel, which adds pleasant complexity without hiding its varietal characteristics. Due to its freshness and complexity, this Chardonnay is ideal to accompany medium-intensity seafood preparations, such as salmon tartar, pasta with seafood sauce or baked white fish. It is also an excellent accompaniment to light meals, such as a Caesar salad or similar.
Grape Varieties: 100% Chardonnay
History of Cousino Macul
A family-run winery that has remained strong since it was founded in 1856 and the unique seal of its wines define this iconic vineyard in the Maipo Valley. It is the only vineyard in Chile established during the 19th century that still belongs entirely to the founding family, a characteristic that has marked the identity of the company and the personality of its wines. At Cousiño Macul importance is placed in preserving the traditions that has forged its history, but always with an innovative spirit to adapt to the new demands of the industry.
Today the company is in the hands of the sixth generation of the Cousiño family, while the seventh is already working in the family business; proof of the authentic passion for wine.
Our mission is to produce world-class wines, authentically Chilean, with character and that express the unique flavor of the Maipo Valley.” ~ Carlos Cousino Valdes
