History of Cousino Macul
A family-run winery that has remained strong since it was founded in 1856 and the unique seal of its wines define this iconic vineyard in the Maipo Valley. It is the only vineyard in Chile established during the 19th century that still belongs entirely to the founding family, a characteristic that has marked the identity of the company and the personality of its wines. At Cousiño Macul importance is placed in preserving the traditions that has forged its history, but always with an innovative spirit to adapt to the new demands of the industry.
Today the company is in the hands of the sixth generation of the Cousiño family, while the seventh is already working in the family business; proof of the authentic passion for wine.
Our mission is to produce world-class wines, authentically Chilean, with character and that express the unique flavor of the Maipo Valley.” ~ Carlos Cousino Valdes
