Bel Canto is the culmination of nearly one century of work and family passion. Our royal grape variety Grenache, grown on its preferred terroir of pebbles, offers the finest expression of its richness and elegance. Tasting this wine is a moment of intense emotion.
Tasting Notes
Colour: A deep red robe
Nose: Pure, refined aromas between stone fruits (plum, cherry) and spicy balsamic notes.
Palate: The palate accentuates the appeal of mature Grenache vine fruit, with a very clear detail in its plum fruit, a savoury middle, and nourishing tannins increasing its complexity and depth after the mid-point. This is a serious wine, and there should be more Liracs of this quality. The late moments are nicely peppery, and the finish is complete, with the tang of the tannins extending nicely, the length lovely. Aging potential of 15 years.
Grape Varieties: 100% Grenache noir
Aging: In demi-muids during 15 months
Awards: 92pts Wine Enthusiast
History of Domaine Maby
Domaine Maby has been handed down over several generations of wine makers in the same family. It is located in the heart of the Côtes du Rhône area, just to the north of Avignon.
The estate’s sixty hectares cover three different appellations : Tavel, Lirac, and Côtes du Rhône.
We cultivate our lands with great respect for the environment and have signed a Sustainable Agriculture contract. This enables us to ensure that our magnificent soils are allowed to express themselves to the full. Tavel and Lirac share the same soils studded with rounded pebbles as Châteauneuf du Pape.
