Tasting Notes
Colour: Saturated purple
Nose: Sexy, powerfully scented bouquet of candied dark berries, plum preserves, sandalwood and floral oils.
Palate: Expansive and deep, offering sweet dark berry flavors and fully absorbed tannins that add gentle grip. This is handling the oak better than the basic shiraz today, and the finish is long, clinging and sweet. (V)

Aging: 18 months in a selection of the best French (80%) and American oak
Awards: 93pts – Wine Advocate-Parker; 91pts – Wine Spectator; 91pts – Vinous
History of Aramis Vineyards
Expressing the character and charm of our vineyard site is at the heart of everything we do at Aramis Vineyards. Our desire is to tell the story of our own place in the world – McLaren Vale – our mandate to create the ultimate expression of the region, the ‘first growth’, the best of the best.
The vineyard is positioned on a steep south-facing slope, with vines planted on their own rootstock in a shallow, iron oxide rich loam lying over a semi permeable limestone ridge. Limestone is often exalted as the finest wine-producing soil in the world, providing great drainage yet retaining water for vines when needed. The dry profile around the roots allows our viticulturalist to achieve great balance in canopies and yield – the conditions needed for the creation of top-flight wines.
