During the early to mid 20th century, the estate was known as Château Certan Talazac. By 1950, the vineyard was selling their wine using the name of Château Certan Marzelle. Jumping ahead to the modern era, following the frost of 1956, the estate became the property of the Giraud family who renamed the winery, Château Giraud. The Giraud family later sold the vineyards in two separate transactions in 1999. They sold best parcels to Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix.
