Pérez Cruz Pircas de Liguai, Cabernet Sauvignon is a small production of 12 thousand bottles from a single plot of about seven hectares where alluvial and colluvial soils converge. Made from a selection of the best blocks at Fundo Liguai Estate in Huelquén, in the Andean sector of the Maipo Valley.

These blocks have consistently delivered, year after year, wines that express all the character and identity of the terroir, which is characterized by the convergence of material, stones, and gravel of colluvial and alluvial origin in the same place. The former soil type lends this Cabernet Sauvignon its fruity character and intensity, and the latter contributes spicy notes, freshness, and elegance.

History of Viña Pérez Cruz

Viña Pérez Cruz is a family-owned, single-estate producer, Don Pablo Perez Zañartu purchased the property in 1963 and the family planted their first vines in 1994. They specialise in red wines that are produced and bottled on site and that reflect the character and identity of the Maipo Alto Valley!

The Liguai estate, exclusive source of Pérez Cruz wines and home to our winery, is 30 miles southeast of Santiago and is nestled against the mountain foothills of the Andes, between 1,450 and 1,700 feet elevation, with soils that are deep, stony and poor in nutrients.

This area has a Mediterranean climate, thus permitting a gradual ripening of the grapes, and allowing them to maintain the fruit concentration and the proper tanning ripening. It also has piedmont soils, well drained and low in nutrients, all essential characteristics needed in the growing of grapes and production of fine red wines. Viña Pérez Cruz is certified in the areas of quality and environment and actively participates in project that benefit the development of the local residents.
