History of Vietti
The Vietti winery, located in the heart of the Langhe, on the top of the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, was founded in the late 1800s by Carlo Vietti. The viticultural properties have progressively expanded over time and today include a heritage of terroir of absolute value within the Barolo area.
Although wine producers for 4 generations, the turning point came from the 1960s, when Luciana Vietti married Alfredo Currado, oenologist and art admirer who, thanks to his intuitions, starting with the production of one of the first Barolo crus (Rocche di Castiglione – 1961), passing through the pure vinification of Arneis (1967), until the invention of the Author’s Labels (1974), became the symbol and architect of some of the most significant revolutions of the time.
The intellectual, professional and prospective inheritance was ideally collected by Luca Currado Vietti (son of Luciana and Alfredo) and his wife Elena who, through the continuation on the road to quality, reasoned experimentation and a great work of expansion and consolidation to international level, have contributed to the affirmation of the Vietti brand, now universally recognized among the best brands of the made in Italy wine.
In 2016 the historic winery was acquired by Krause Holdings, allowing Elena and Luca, always at the helm of Vietti, to enrich their company assets with some fine crus and therefore be able to look to the future with new and stimulating perspectives, the all while maintaining the family approach and imprinting that has always distinguished it.
