The sparkling rosé from the Vilarnau family in Sant Sadurni d’Anoia, the heart of the cava country, is a blend with the Grenache as the main character, complemented with the Pinot Noir. Organically produced, each variety has been vinified separately. Bottled fermented “Méthod Champenoise”. Aged in bottle for a minimum of 15 months. Fresh and fruity cava recommended to be served as an aperitif or to accompany pasta dishes, pizza, paella and fideuá.

The grapes were sourced from a single vineyard in Gundagai, a high altitude, warm inland region in southern New South Wales that is perfectly suited to premium Shiraz. The fruit was picked in the cool of the night and transported to our Hunter Valley winery to be processed on the same day. The fruit was destemmed, but not crushed, with as many whole berries as possible going into the stainless steel fermenter. Fermenting with whole berries enhances the brightness and fruit purity, and reduces any overt tannin, which is perfect for this modern style of Shiraz. After fermentation, maturation took place in older French oak for 12 months.
Beside Broke Road Gundagai Shiraz is a great example of modern Australian Shiraz.
